Bleak House

I did it! I can't believe it took me over a year to read this book. Really, I just don't understand myself sometimes. It only took me 3 days to read the last half of this 800+ pager and I didn't find it boring in the least. Maybe the first half is just slow. Or maybe I just needed to spend enough time reading it to get into the language and the time period. That's probably it. No matter what my problem was, I'm so glad I endured it out. This book is worth it, as I'd say just about any Dickens book is worth it. I've read a lot of books in my life, but there are just a few authors that make me feel changed when I come to the end of one of their books. I'd definitely put Dickens in that category. The story in this book is one of the most moving, intricate, and emotional ones I've ever read. It's just so good! And now, I feel like rewarding myself by watching the recent and gorgeous Masterpiece Theater adaption which I'm proud to own. Except I think I may have already packed it. Blast.
